Nokia's first flagship store in U.S.

Nokia's first flagship store will be open in Chicago, which is somewhat far from general expectation. In addition, Chicago is known as the homeland of Motorola.

User experience center of KDDI

According to Wireless Watch Japan, KDDI has opened a sort of user experience center, KDDI Designing Studio(japanese only as of now), at the center of harajuku(mostly sophisticated area in Tokyo in terms of fashion,  youngsters' trends).
The five story building provides various kinds of experiences of mobile, converged, fixed services for free. The floor plan consists of communication studio, presentation studio, creation studio, collaboration studio and relaxation studio, which seems to based on users' behavior or perception in utilizing the services.

Personally, I was involved in a similar project with far more challenging concept and sophisticated ambition about 4 years ago in SKT. Unfortunately the project itself was dropped due to some inevitable force, but now there comes similar trials in real world.

Understanding user is one of the key challenges in business with the advent of creative class or the age of UCC(user created content).

New Apple store on 5th, NYC

In addition to the old new store in SOHO, brand new one has been unveiled recently.
Just like the sony style store, the concept of customer experience center became a must.
Letting alone the different purpose and style of each center, you can name various companies operating similar stores around the world such as Sony, Nike, Prada, Google and so on. Nokia is referred to have a plan to open a customer center in NYC soon.
Most of all, I love the always-open operation of this store.
